Does your text run off the page in some posts/threads?

To those who might find it useful, I know I have issues in some posts/thread where for whatever reason the texts keep going and I can't see the end of it. The simple and easy solution (not sure why it took me so long to realize it) is next to your screen name on the left upper panel above where it says "Facebook Become a Fan" directly adjacent to your screen name is the word "Hide" if you click this is will collapse the side menu and give you a larger view! Solved my issues with posts running off the page. If you want it back or are done reading that post, just hit the square box with the triangle that replaces it and the side box will pop back out and you have quick access to the blogs and other things on the side menu!

I'll definitely try this next time it happens. Do we know why it does this sometimes but not all the time?

I have a good theory why. I believe it has something to do with a liquidity code in one of the style sheets for adjusting the DIV's dimensions in the code for different screen resolutions. Or because the forum list/post/view/edit box is a fixed width and the HTML does not correctly break and/or wrap text where needed. It also has something to do with links that force the code to fix to the lenth of the link, thus stretching out the page. You can't scroll it beacuse the scroll bar is covered within the frame. But if you have ever noticed if you highlight the text you can actually drag to the right of the screen once it hits the edge of the frame it will start scrolling just that frame. I'd need to see all of the code to be sure though.

If someone posts a huge line of unbroken text it will sometimes make text run offscreen. Posting huge photos in the sig line is known to do it as well.

Eta> I can't remember for sure since its not there now, but I am almost positive the scroll bar is there- but wayyyyy on the bottom of the screen. For touchscreen devices like iPad i dont think the scrollbar is there, but you can drag text within the frame over to read it but in either case yes a hassle. Collapsing the sidebar is a much better solution. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Ennio- will whatever you are doing make the site more compatible with Firefox?? I get errors when posting referencing issues with FF.
