Hello. Sorry to hear about your granddaughters vomiting. What formula is she on? My daughter had tons of vomiting, feeding problems as an infant. She was on a feeding tube because of her lack of interest in eating and vomiting. Turns out when she was 9 months old, a bronchoscopy showed she had an allergy (milk). We changed her formula to Nutramigen and a few weeks later she started eating well and she stopped throwing up. By 18 months her milk allergy was gone. But her feeding problems and lack of interest in eating continued.
We thought her reflux problems ended when she stopped throwing up at age 9 months. For 4 or 5 years we had no idea she had reflux problems. She never complained about her tummy or any other signs. She has never enjoyed eating and it was always a battle. So at age 5 it was decided she needed a g-tube to help her gain weight. Her GI dr just did a scope, and ph probe to rule out reflux before her g-tube was inserted. We were shocked when her gi dr said Sophia had one of the worst cases of reflux she has seen. So Sophia got a nissan fundoplication surgery too.
This past summer she had her first cat scan of her lungs. We were very surprised to learn she had lots of bronchiectasis (damage). This past week a bronch showed she is refluxing into her lungs. Her drs think this reflux is and has been causing her lung damage all these years. Either her fundo is not working now or she has swallowing problems. We will do more testing to figure it out.
So keep on the reflux problems because they can continue even when it seems everything is fine.
My daughter stomach also makes those noises when she vomits. It is a strange sound.
