Doxy for MRSA??

there are two broad types of antibiotics, bacterial static and baterial cidal. I am sure you can tell by their names how they work, cidal's actually kill the bacteria while static's just stop their growth. Doxycycline only inhibits the growth so your own immune system can kill the germ itself but certainly that is better than nothin. So yes of I were in your position I would take it.

I happen to like doxy. It seems that after just 3-4 days on it, I'm coughing less & feel better. I guess I view MRSA as something that I'll always have, but try to knock it down periodically as best I can.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
