Dr Vaughty

As some of you may or may not rember Dr. Vaughty was the one who claimed it was all in my head. Well one of my nurses's son has CF, and so does the lady at the desk. They both said he says the same things to them about their kids, when infact something is obviouslly wrong. This is a strange comfort because I thought he was just doing that to me. As I'm looking more into all this I'm finding out that ment people dont want to see him or dont want their kids too... interesting facts you find when your on the adult floor. He was always telling my mom it was in my head and then shortlly after wards I would end up in the hospital. I take some measure in realizing it isnt just a personal thing against me, it's in gerneral. He has done a lot for the CF community but he is just an old burn out and I dont think he should be working, my nurse agrees... It's sad that I have to just not like him. I just know when I'm coughing up massive amounts of blood and turning blue its not in my head.. and it's turning out that he does that to alot of parents.

What happened? Care to share again, now I'm curious about what happened....</end quote></div>

I went in to the clinic with a sinus infection from hell with croup and he gave me antibiotics and told my mom in private it was in my head. Then again after I turned 18 I went in because I just was feeling like ***** and he gave me mucomyst and pretizone and told my mom again it was in my head then two weeks later when I went back he said " You sound much clearer" I looked at him and said" No *****, I told you I was sick." Thats the story all shortened and stuff.

Yikes, sounds like an A*sshole of a dr. Is he a CF doc?? I'm not too familiar with doctors aside from in WA and CA. I'm sorry to hear this. I do think that you can (and should!!!) report behavior like this to the CFF. They need to be aware that a CF doctor (if that is indeed what he is) is treating patients like this.

Thanks for the info.

Some patients love him, I use to. Dr. Snedden was my favorite by far when he died I felt like I lost a very close and dear family member..I love the staff and the other dr.'s I just dont like him.

I wonder if an infection disease doctor can treat CF. If you do not like this doctor and he sounds kind of the annoying type *yuck* then perhaps call around in your area for an infection disease specialist and ask them what their level of CF is. Perhaps they might be much better. Treating bugs rather than driving your nuts.
