i don't currently drink, but if it came up soon and i have a mild form of CF (44 and 42 on my sweat test) and my liver functions are fine...is it okay to drink alcohol from time to time?

i don't think thre are any problems with alcohol and cf itself....there might be some antibiotics etc that your on that could interact badly. but that probably just depends what your on. i go out and have drinks with friends fairly frequently and i know there are a lot of people here that do the same, some more that others. shouldn't be a problem.

I am almost 30 and I have drank some. I am a light weight, I usually get sick the next day (throwing up) and I do not drink more than 2-3 drinks. Be careful because drinking lowers your immunity. I have had gallstones so I just avoid it. But, I have had my times. I will note that when I went out frequently (1-2 times a week) My PFTs decreased and I was sick more. My FEV1 is over 100% and I am 5'4 and weigh 150. Just to give you an idea of my status.

I'm sure you COULD drink (except for meds...as said earlier). Remember alcohol dehydrates you and that is not good for the CF body.
