Drugs while pregnant

I was hoping that others would share the fruit of their labors about which drugs are okay to take (or have a medical payoff that sufficient to justify them) while you are pregnant. Our pregnancy is a bit of a surprise (my husband has been through ambry amplified though and is not a carrier) and so I haven't done the research that I would have, so I was hoping some others could share.

My obstetrician has said to listen to my pulmonologist for now and my pulmonologist has said to keep everything, but I would really like to know what others are doing if you're willing to share.

Right now, I'm taking:
Singulair
Advair 250/50 (i switched myself to this from 500/50 when i found out i was pregnant)
Pulmozyme
Albuterol
Nasocort AQ
Mobic
Bactroban (as needed)
Hypertonic Saline

Thanks!

With cf pregnancy there is a risk benefit ratio you and your doc have to look at to make the decision on which meds to stay on. And you have to look at how is your cf, how do you feel day to day, what is your pfts...all that stuff.
There is a risk with any medicine during pregnancy, and natural supplements too. But people like us usually have to take some of the risk to keep ourselves healthy b/c a healthy mom typically equals a healthy baby/pregnancy.

Of the meds you listed, I am on Albuterol, Pulmozyme and Hyp saline. I also take a Protonix pill every day for my acid reflux. I take Pulmocort as needed. Thats it. But my pregnancy was planned out very carefully and my doc and I worked for a year to wean me off meds that she felt I could safely go without for 9 months. But that was only my situation. Every one is diferent. Someone may be able to stop a med that you really need to stay healthy. If you have a good cf doc and a good OB working closely with your cf docs, they'll tell you what you really need and what things you can stop.

fyi-I know my doc stopped my Advair, she said it wasn't good for preg, but again-that was only my situation. If your doc feels its safe and that you need it, I'd listen.

Everyone's situation is different and it's important to work with your doctor per your specific needs. Of course, the least amount of med's you have to take during pregnancy is best. I am on:

Singulair
Advair 250/50
Pulmozyme
Albuterol (specifically Duoneb brand)
Hypertonic Saline

...and
Bactrim
TOBI (every other month)
Rhinoquart Aqua
Zyrtec
azithromycin

My FEV1 is 66% and my cf is very stable....hasn't fluxuated much in the last 10 years.

I was on advair, albuterol, HS, and creon

I had no problems.

I listed in a previous post a few links to some sites that show pregnancy and lactation risks - both are for breastfeeding but list the pregnancy risk as well....

I hihgly suggest getting Hale's Medications and Mother's Milk - it is for breastfeeding, but also lists the pregnancy risk category of all the meds it discusses - his work is very thorough.

What IV meds did you take and for how long? I have a levaquin rx here for 500mg once a day for 14 days that I am procrastinating taking. I know it's OK, I just still don't like to do it...kwim?
