Well I made an attempt at one of my favorite Tool songs, AEnima. I think I can possibly play this better. I messed up and made a few dumb mistakes. This song really wears me out.

Nice work on the Katatonia - My Twin cover.
As you seem to be adding Katatonia to your repertoire be sure to give Rusted a try or atleast a listen, of the same album as July and My twin and it's for sure my favourite by them.
Are those triggers you have on the side of your kit? If so what do you trigger them with?
And Aenema by Tool, even able to attempt it is incredible! I love the 5/8's or whatever it's called. There's some very tricky stuff going on there. Well done!

(If you're interested, lately I'm trying to make my e-drumkit (and piano) sound better through Midi VST's and here's a test I did of a free plugin called MDrummer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ1qSOssP78 )

Thanks guys. I have two more weeks at home before I go back to college. Hope to drum more before I leave.

I am not sure what you are referring to on the sides of my kit. I don't have any triggers or mics. I use 1 microphone that sets a couple of feet in front of my set that is hooked up to my laptop behind me. Then I edit and mix them together in Cool Edit Pro.

I really enjoy Katatonia, may give rusted a shot. I can't think of which one that is right now. I would really like to do Leaders but it is really difficult.

I like that. Wish I could get my drums to sound like that haha. Is that you playing guitar? I like the sound of it.

Ah, was referring to those open pads you have on a rack on the side, what are they?

So if you're limited in playing as you go back to college why not get an e-kit on the side? They lack depth, feel and a real kit is magnitudes better to play but it's something you like to do, good for your health and they're quiet(ish) enough to play in a studenthouse or whatever atleast in daytime. Guess you can get a new one for 3-400$ these days that are reasonable(ish) and have a Midi out. (Well I think you should look for something with all mesh or real heads but then the price goes way up.) Something to look into anyway.

Well done on Alice in chains!

They are called roto-toms. They are just plastic heads that can twist to change pitch. You should check them out. I think are cool and fun to play.

I would like to have an electric kit to play while I am away in college. Need the money haha... Broke college kid.

Great vids, thanks for posting!

I've been drumming for a few years now and I agree it's a good cardio workout. Now if only my dogs wouldn't attack me while I'm playing...
