Amelia was born with peeling skin but it is almost gone. Her tush is red/sensitive so we use fragrance free wipes and are careful to change her often. I use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion on her occasionally and the thicker Cetaphil moisturizing cream on myself daily.

My sisters kids have horribly sensitive and dry skin she recommended to me Aquaphor lotion, it si pretty thick but now iwth winter coming and a constant runny nose due to teething I have been putting it on Lillians face, I use aveeno on her body and my favorite is to put a splash of baby oil in her bath water, seh comes out so soft. I also use the alcohol free sent free wipes and detergents and never softener on her clothes.

Just recenlty, about 2 months she has been getting a redness and dryness ot her back and for a while she had some rash on her face, I took her to the ped and they siad it was not exzema and did not look like food allergies. They gave me the desonide cream for her face, I used it about 4 days and it cleared right up.

And have you thought about trying cloth diapers on his heiney? There are a lot of chemicals in disposables that might be irritating him. and fo course, free and clear detergents (and even try double rinsing his laundry).

It could be a food allergy if it is more eczema looking and in that case, you might try eliminating dairy from your diet.
</end quote></div>

My nephew (22 months) has very sensitive skin and I converted my SIL to Seventh Generation Diapers (she also uses their wipes). They're chlorine and dye free. He can tolerate other diapers and wipes now but when he was smaller he could only tolerate the seventh generation. If I had more motivation I'd cloth diaper in an instant. I'm considering it w/ my next baby.

I also agree w/ the food sensitivity - and dairy is usually the first and easiest to eliminate. Logan was sensitive to dairy as a baby and I cut it out of my diet around 3 months old. He didn't show it on his skin till he was around a year and then he would get rough scaley patches about the size of a quarter on his skin if he or I slipped on the dairy. He's better now but I still watch it for both of us.
