Duke vs. UNC Care Centers

We're moving to the Raleigh area next week from the Scottish Rite clinic in Atlanta and we're trying to decide between the two clinics. Our daughter has CF, she's 3 years old. Any advice you can offer about the UNC or Duke clinics will be greatly appreciated!

Well, Reece had his lung removal at UNC & we were VERY pleased with all the docs/nurses there! They have a great research team...specializing in CF. I really dont know anything about Duke, but if it were me I would choose UNC for sure<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

From what I have heard, UNC's CF center is top notch!! I have heard no complaints from people who go there for their CF care.

As far as transplant goes.. you cannot beat Duke (I was transplanted there), but I know you aren't looking for that right now.

We just returned home last night from UNC. We were in for six days. I cannot say enough about the CF team at UNC. Dr. Davis is fantastic, but so are all of the other peds CF specialists. I have yet to meet anyone at UNC...doctor, nurse, RT, PT, dietician, nurses on patient floors, even food service, who do not seem to enjoy their job.

We moved to North Carolina from Michigan about one year ago. I am homesick and would move back to Michigan and all of my family in a heartbeat...except, I would have to leave UNC. And now that we're here and see the care Andrew has available to him, we will never leave!
