Dull, Dry Skin

My skin is very dull on my face. I presume this is to do with drugs we take it just looks dull and grey. Has anybody gort the same problem or any tips to brighten me up ?

I also suffer really dry skin on my hands to the point where they crack and bleed. I have tried numerous handcreams which don't seem to do much. I think part of the problem is washing my nebs as i'm constantly putting my hands in detergent. Would it be ok to wear gloves to wash these and if so do i need to use different pairs for different chambers and a new pair each time?
Any tips gratefully received cos my hands are so painful and make me look about 90 (i'm only 36 LOL!!!)

do you drink enough water? i know i do not and my skin looks kind of dull. i also drink coffee and diet soda and caffein is very drying for your skin and your lungs. i'm working on kicking both of those habits! haha very unsuccessful so far.....

anyway you can also look for makeup that will brighten your skin. get a foundation with a touch of shimmer or a liquid highlighter and mix it in with some tinted moisturizer. that will brighten up your face....i would recommend going to a place like Ulta or Sephora and asking them. those places are a little pricey but of the two i would recommend Ulta because they carry highend make up like NARS, SmashBox and others, but also carry maybelline, cover girl, etc. ask one of the sales people to help you out. that's why they are there! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> you could always go to a department store and ask one of the makeup counters about it....

i also meant to say that with your nebs can you just throw them in the dishwasher? i have a little blue plastic mesh basket that i throw them all in and pop it in the top rack of the dishwasher and let them airdry when they are done.....that would save your hands.....
you said you have tried lots of different hand creams but i really like neutrogena hand cream...maybe get a pair of soft cotton gloves and lather up your hands with lotion and sleep in the gloves. might feel weird at first but the gloves will help lock in the moisture....

With consuming coconut oil and sea salt, I just don't get dry skin the way I used to. When I used to take hot baths all the time, I found that adding salt to the bath was the most effective cure for the dry skin they tended to cause. Recently, I developed dry skin on my hands to the point of cracking and bleeding. I eventually concluded it was actually some kind of infection. I did two things to effectively combat it: Found the source and treated that (my mouse at work, which I treat by laying a paper towel over that has been soaked in diet tonic water and peroxide) and coated my hands in coconut oil for a few minutes every day until it cleared up.
