dumb question

Ok this may be a really stupid question but it always drives me nuts. What does it mean when people use the initials "DH" and "DS"... I realize that h is husband and s is son and whatnot but what is the "D"? And I've seen other initials too that I can't think of right now.
Enlighten me, please!

I believe the D stands for diagnosed, as in diagnosed with CF.

The only reason i know is because i asked the same ? a couple on months back and that's the answer i got.
