Dylan saw his GI surgeon today (Post-Op)

Finally, Dylan is healing well. I brought a copy of Dylan's CT-Scan to our appointment today so the GI doctor could see it. He showed us exactly where the infection was. It was right in the muscle surrounding the tube. The muscle was really big compared to the others. I like our GI doc because he takes the time to answer the questions that might seem petty. He was a little angry that the ER doctor didnt call one of the team members while we were there. He knew what was going on and he told the ER doctor that. He couldnt narrow down where the infection came from because so much happened right around the same time but he doesnt think we will have to deal with it again. The tube is exactly where it should be and everything looks great!!

Over all Dylan is doing much better. He is off all restrictions and now can run, jump, play with all his friends like he has wanted to for so long now. He knows his limits until the total healing process is done. The doctor said it looks great and his feedings are getting better. If we could just get the stupid pump to work the way its suppose to things would be just hunky dory. I have slowed down the drip and for 2 nights and it worked great. Now last night, with the same settings the pump said he was finished and he still had lots of "super shake" in the bag. Go figure. Oh well, we will get it.

So things are on the mend. We have made our 5th 6 hour car trip and one more is needed for the CF appointments at the end of the month. I told my husband we just need to move down state!!! Boy did each and everyone of our kids veto that idea!!!

Thank you all for your support,
Tina

I don't know what kind of pump you have, but check to see if there is a Total Volume reading on it. Our gets suirrly when the total volume is reaching 10000, and then it just needs to be cleared. Sometimes, it shuts off before the feeding is done if the pump reading is reaching it's max of 10000, and sometimes it seems to slow itself down.

All in all we love our pump, but I get frustrated on the few times that it seems to not work right.

Glad to hear Dylan's on the mend. Thank goodness for good docs!

I am glad to hear you got some answers & your mind was eased a bit. Now if you could just get this pump to cooperate <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">
