One of the guys on here asked me to make a blog because for some reason he was not able to. He wanted to know if any of you men suffer from E.D. I guess he was wondering if it was a CF related thing or not.. IF you do what do you take for it?

Thanks,

Jennifer

Jen you will need to forgive me its 3:30 in the morning and I'm tired, I just know thats its going to be blindingly obvious,,, What does E.D stand for. ? I have quite a few meanings running throo my mind but they seem ridiculous.

I'm thinking she's referring to erectile dysfunction.

Jen, for the guy that asked... a lot of things can contribute to that, some I guess you could say are CF related. It has to do with diet mainly in the "cf situation" as well as hormone levels. He should get his LH, FSH, TSH and Testosterone levels checked first, that's a good starting point.

Speaking for , I bet most if not all the Cf Males...

ED is not a problem and not related to Cf.
Not as far as I know, without getting to blue

When I was taking Zoloft the doctor asked if I was having any problems. Or maybe he was asking about more of a lack of interest rather than ED. Either way, I've not heard it with CF.

It can also be a problem with blood sugar levels. (these are all things Mark's CF doctors have mentioned to him/us).

I personally think ED is over marketed. My guess is that many men drink too much and have ED issues. Many men attempt to have sex with partners that aren't attractive enough emotionally or physically to inspire, and therefore have ED issues. I think stress in the minds of many men is at an all time high. As well, I think men and women are falsely led to believe that sexual arousal should be a constant among the male population. Enter pharmaceutical competition and marketing, and now ED is a problem men just don't discuss, or all men have ED at some point in their lives, so use our snake oil at $$, and you will never ED burdened.

Myself, I never have had ED. I have lost my interest because the event was not as inspiring as it first started. But that was not ED that was BORDUM.

One other thing, if the man is claiming ED, that is one thing, but if the woman thinks her man suffers from ED, maybe you should ask yourself, is he pretending he has ED cause he just isn't into it, you or himself at that moment?

sorry not a man here. but i know that diabetes (sugar levels) like Julie said can be a factor....if you have CFRD you might check in to that. OR like Grendel said, bored, not into it just dont want to admit it because everyone expects men to always be into it.
I think ways it can be cf related is sugar level related if you have a history of problems with that, stress which is common among cfers, depression, depression medications. Certain meds can have this effect, non cf meds. Best thing to do if it bothers him alot is talk to the doctor, even though it is embarassing for him...I'm 100% sure the doctors have had this question asked before, probably know how to help and if they dont they will figure it out (assuming their good docs) and I know for a fact they have been asked way more embarrasing questions than this. Its just getting the courage to ask thats the problem. I know I dont like asking certain questions.

I did not have sex the first time until I was 21. I waited because I wanted to be with a girl who I acutally cared for, but more than that, I waited because I had bigger issues to deal with more specifically my CF. I might have found myself in a caring relationship sooner and had sex sooner, if my CF was not such a big responsibility.

I bring this up because ED in CF might be mostly about stress, like PurpleLungs stated. Half the time my concerns are about my health today and tomorrow. And unlike in the movies and TV, sex is not a solution for all my problmes.
