Ear infection/cough

So Maggie developed ear pain on Sunday, knew it was going to be an ear infection but we had to wait til yesterday to bring her in. She has an ear infection in her right ear and the PA thought she heard a few squeak in her lungs. So 10 days of Augmentin and double her Bactrim for 14 days. I called Maggie CF doc and he said that would be ok; sometimes the Bactrim will work for her...Extra nebs and vest... If her ear isn;t better in 4-5 days I have to bring her back in; also if her cough isn't better in about the same time range I may call her CF doc as well. I've listened to her lungs today and didn't hear anything. Had to convince Maggie that she had to stay home from school....Maggie HATES missing anything. Went to the school to bring her work home. Maggie seems whiney(her ear hurts) and my awesome neighbor brought over a case of crafts supplies(she's a teacher)... Anyway, the rest of the week there is no school so lots of rest and vest...

Unfortunately the vest shakes her ear and hurts her. Hoping we get through this without the big guns but I guess we'll cross that bridge ina few days...

Ear infections hurt! It's the worst pain I've ever had. Just riding in the car hurt my ear so badly. I can't imagine being hooked up to the vest. Ugh! Poor Maggie. I know she needs to keep those lungs clear, and I'm not saying don't do it, but I bet it does hurt.

I hope the meds and extra rest will do the trick.

Do they make ear drops with a pain reliever in them or did I imagine that? Poor Maggie! Hopefully she feels better, soon!
