Ear Polyps

My 3 yr old daughter had ear polyps removed recently, grommets inserted and a tune up. Since returning home muck was coming out of her ear so she went on cipro ear drops but they hurt her too much so she was put on oral cipro. The yuck that came out of her sinuses was revolting!!! - and she developed a moist cough that cleared whilst on medication. Since stopping the oral cipro a dry irritating cough has returned and she is rubbing her nose alot - has anyone else had any problems with ENT areas due to CF and what did u do to fix them? She has psuedomonas in her lungs - but at present her lungs are good - no infection. Any ideas?

My daughter (non Cfer) had similiar problems, but hers were all related to her allergies. We had tried to see if she could come off her allergy medicine & he didnt go well. It takes a long time for her to clear up after her head gets congested & it infiltrates her lungs.

Hi
Has she been tested for allergies like aspergillus. It is a simple painless skin test where they test for cat, dog, fungus, dust mite etc. Also, has she had a culture done to see if psuedomonas is now in ears? I hope she picks up soon. Thinking of you.

Hi, How do they test for pseudomonas in the ears? And if it's there, what is the treatment? Thanks,

CF'ers are prone to sinus problems & infections. The dry cough could be related to post-nasal sinus drip. My daughter suffered from this for some time before we had to finally do sinus surgery due to the post-nasal drip going into her lungs and causing pulmonary exacerbations.
