EAR WAX

Vivian seems to have a constant problem with excessive ear wax. One every 2 months or so we have to get her ears cleaned out. Has anyone else have this problem.
At clinic our doctors said although unconfirmed he believes that it is CF related, because he has a number of patients with the same problem.

A lighter not:
Seems like I'm post queen today, wow woke up an opened bottle I guess, just pouring out all over.

If you are post queen, I am reply queen. I just seem to be relating to you today.

Jordan has the same problem. We don't have docs clean his ears though. We use ear candles. You can get them at health food stores. They are just what they are called - a hollow candle that you put in the ear and light it. It pulls the wax up through the candle as it burns and clears it all out. It is completely painless. It is an indian remedy. My kids always hated having ears irrigated. A friend of mine suggested them to me and the rest is history!

i have the same problem but i don't do anything as exotic as get my ears irrigated or stick a candle in it, i just clean them out with a qtip and just be careful or if they're really plugged up i'll put isproponal alchohol in them ( i probably spelled that completly wrong) i'm always getting a qtip full of ear wax, i just thought it was normal though, guess not

We've just ran into this problem with our daughter this last week and I was wondering if it was common.
She's been having alot of sinus congestion, which the ENT says is because her mucous is so thick and sinusses are so small. Anyways, this past week, she's been really, really plugged up and not sleeping well because it's been hard to breathe. My hypothesis is that she's gotten so plugged up , it's starting to effect her ears, because she's been waking up screaming because of earaches and yesterday, her ears were caked with dried wax.
I'll be sure to try the ear candling thingy, I hope it works. By the way another trick my mother used to do was to take a little olive oil on a teaspoon, warm it up a bit with a match and pour it in the ear and then stuff it with cotton. It sounds weird, but it's really soothing when you're in pain.

There are ear wax removal kits you can get at the drug store. I believe it's a hydrogen peroxide gel and then you use a bulb syringe to rinse out the ear with warm water. I heard mixed reviews on ear candling.

I've had tons of earwax all my life! I clean them with a q-tip about every other day, if they get really bad I'll drip a little peroxide in there and it helps.

I have had earwax excessively all my life, but then again I dont have CF as such. Double DH117, for those who dont know, oh unDX. My wife tells me that it has goten worse the past couple of years, its not just the deep down brown wax, I also am plauged with really flaky wax that gathers around the ear. I cant see it so it dosent bother me and it gives me something to do when I'm bored, clean my ears that is.
Q-tips just push it back in, I find that, you know the little plastic stirrers that you get at fast-food outlets, well they work the best, sort of scrape it out.<img src="">

Forgot to say that Craig has bad earwax also, maybe it runs in the family-wax that is.
