OH! I forgot to add that I have suffered from diagnosed CF related arthropathy (severe joint pain accompanied by a red bruised-feeling rash, BUT NO SWELLING TO SPEAK OF) periodically since I was 12. Maybe you have too? Maybe some of us have this problem and others never will?

Odd, you have ITP? I had TTP, a little more serious, but at least curable. Had my creatnine go up to 9.6 when I had it. Man, what a trip! They were worried that I would go into a coma, so no pain medications. I was awake and alert, with nothing but a shot of lidacain, and they put a central line in my neck. OUCH! A couple days later, they did a bone marrow draw---no pain meds and no anesthesa. OUCH again. I will never, ever, ever forget that. I'm glad things were a bit foggy with my kidneys that bad, cause I still remember how painful all that was.

My uncle has ITP as well, but things are well managed for him. I hope they are ok for you as well.

I am currently experiencing this same "joint" pain that so many complain about. My left foot is 3x it's normal size, I cannot even get my shoes on. I am having to hop around because any weight on that foot makes me feel like it is on fire! I can empathize with your pain! I am currently waiting for my doc to call me in some prednisone <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Prednisone is the first thing I thought of because it can cause swelling (usually in the face, trunk, and feet). So if you're on prednisone thats probably the culprit. I also think its gotta be something up with your kidneys, but you'd know about that better than I. Ask your dr to take a BMP, basic metabolic panel to see how your kidneys are doing.
