Editing Signatures

Hi Ennio,

I'm about to go edit only the text my signature and I know what's going to happen - all my HTML links are going to be messed up.

Why does this happen?

I know this used to happen on the boards, but it's still occuring in the signatures. Why hasn't this been fixed yet?

Here's a great example.

How in the world did this code (spaces put in so you can see the code) < a href= " <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://noexcusesnoexcuses.blogspot.com----">http://noexcusesnoexcuses.blogspot.com"</a> >Anything you ever wanted to know about CF on My Blog < / a >

Turn into this:

< a href= "[ L=http://noexucsesnoexcuses.blogspot.com/">Visit]http://noexucsesnoexcuses.blogspot.com/---->Visit [/L] My CF Blog! </a>

Please don't tell me that you don't permit HTML.

Because there are innumerable examples on this site of people showing slide shows if their kids etc - and those are put in their signatures through HTML code.

so if you're allowing them to do it, allow all of us

You are right about the html; my signature photo works by using either the image tags (non html) or the html link on photobucket. The 'html is not permitted' applies to when we want to format our posts with bold, quotes, emotes, etc.

I have no idea why we have to redo our entire sig every time we alter them in any way. It is annoying. If you are having trouble fixing the link, an easy way to redo it is to open a reply window for a post before going to your profile page. Use the link button in the reply box to get your link looking like you want it to (the post preview feature will ensure that it both looks like it should and works), then copy the link text from that reply window into your sig box.
