eFlow - Foundation Care

Does anyone who received an eFlow through Foundation Care know the circumstances under which the company would take the eFlow back? The paperwork said that they can take it back but I don't know why they would do this and after what amount of time. And also, in their contract papers they want me to sign state that they have the "right" to give away any medical information even without my consent or refusal. I'm hesistant to accept the eFlow based on these circumstances. I love it and have gotten good results just from the few days I have been using it but I feel uneasy!

I used to have an eFlow from them but then my Medicare plan wouldn't cover the medicine from them so they could no longer let me use it. I found a new pharmacy that the plan covered and also could get me the eFlow so I no longer needed the one from Foundation Care anyway. Foundation Care was very nice through out the whole time I used them and were patient and understanding about getting the eFlow back to them. I have had it for soo many years that I don't remember what the paperwork said or if I had copies where they'd be. I've never had any problems though with them other than the insurance part. When I did return it, they paid for the shipping and I didn't have to have the original box for it either. If you are concerned though, you could try talking to the place I get mine at Carter's Pharmacy 1-800-557-0583. Not sure if they have the same requirements or not. Didn't matter to me though, as long as I got it b/c it really is a wonderful thing to have. Good luck and let me know if I can answer anymore questions you have.

Unfortunately, any medical equipment not "bought" outright by your insurance company (and many companies do not allow for purchasing of durable medical equipment) remains the property of the company who originally distributed it. In this case, Foundation Care. Usually, it is on a "rental basis."

I've never seen a case where they've just gone and taken the neb away, usually for non-compliance, change in meds, or upgrade in equipment would be the only reason for them to take it back.

I would call Foundation Care and ask about their HIPAA laws...they have to explain under what kind of circumstances they would distribute your medical information. It sounds like, by signing the contract, you are giving the permission. Double check with them.....they're really good about anything to do with CF.
