eflow nebulizer cleaning

I have the eflow nebulizer and we love it when it is working well. It takes about 3-5 min. to deliver the med. However, we seem to constantly have problems keeping them running well. After about a week of a new neb head the treatments are taking about 15-20 min per treatment. It is really frustrating for us and our 16 month old. We have tried the everything (we use alcohol, and the peroxide to soak the heads in along with boiling them in distiled water). We are at a loss. If anyone knows how to speed the treatments up please let us know.

You have to at least rinse the nebulizer head (metal part) off with water after each treatment. There are microscopic holes in this if they close up then the treatment is not going to be as effective and will take longer. At the end of each day you should boil everything but the head in water and soak the head with isopropyl alcohol. After soaking the head with the alcohol you should rinse the alcohol off in the now non-boiling water that has the rest of your nebulizer parts. After that take the parts out of the water and let them air dry.
At least that's what my boyfriend did, he had the eflow for 2 months (using the same head for the entire time) for a study and never had a problem, and the treatments from the start of the study to the end only took between 3 - 5 minutes.

over here in the uk, lots of us have eflows and the best way by far that lots of us swear by is to get a baby steam steriliser and just put all the parts of your eflow inc the head after you have used it, this is distilled water and completely sterilises it! even pari in the uk have agreed this method, it is a god send to me as i do upto 5 treatments a day and it only takes 8 minutes and its ready to go! hope this helps

Hi,
they do still have a problem with one part of the eflow, the one with the 2 metallic things. You need a new one every 6 month and if it doesn´t work well before that time, they exchange it without charge (at least here in Germany).

Hey, the baby steamer sounds like an excelent idea. Is there a specific kind that you use? Also do you still need to wash it with soap and water first? I am very encouraged about another idea that just might actually work for the eflow. Thank you for your help.
