Endocrinologist Appointment bumped up to this Friday!

Thank you, Ladies!

I promise to keep you all updated upon returning home. Today might be more interesting than expected...I'm on Cycle Day 14 and have extreme discomfort. It actually started yesterday. I'm so bloated that I look pregnant and have nausea. Also, going to the bathroom isn't fun...I must have another rather large cyst again. I am so bloated... I don't even feel like eating because of being so uncomfortable...

Count on an update around 5:00 EST. I won't get home before that...

Endocrinologist Appointment bumped up to this Friday!

Okay...

My CF checkup went great. PFTs are back up, and everything looked good.

As far as my endocrinology appointment, I started 500 mg of Metformin tonight. They want me to start with 500 mg for a week or two than increase to 1,000 mg daily. I have to be sure to take them in the middle of meals to prevent extreme nausea and/or vomiting. Very loose stools are also a side effect. I'm guessing it can't be any worse than how I am with Cipro.

Basically, they acted like it is a "shot in the dark". They completely agreed that I should try it but the ? about scar tissue on the left side as well as the right looms heavily.

They said that Metformin can take up to 3 months to really work so we'll see. I'm to get some bloodwork early next week which includes all the basic stuff + some infertility stuff. Then, I go back in 3 months for follow-up bloodwork and ultrasounds. Actually, the ultrasounds and some bloodwork will be done at the fertility clinic too. If there isn't even the slightest sense of improvement, then Met won't work for me. So we'll see...I'm staying grounded.

At least I'm trying something...

Jenny - that is great about your CF checkup! Glad to hear you're healthy again. I hope the metformin works out for you. Its worth a shot otherwise you'll never have known whether it might work or not.
