Endoscopy with Bravo

Has anyone ever had this? I had one today and my right upper back has hurt since about 2 min after waking up from anesthesia. Eating is really painful, as in chew, swallow, wait three seconds, cringe and gasp in spasms of pain.

Looked online and this doesn't seem like all that uncommon of a reaction. Dumb me waited until after the procedure to check the 'net. Problem is that people post about their horrible pain but they never follow up.

If you have had this, please tell me the pain went away after you passed the device 3-30 days later (average a week).

And if given the option of this or a PH probe, choose with your eyes open unlike me.

I have had this procedure done.....there was NO pain or discomfort involved. I would let your doctor know. I don't even remember being warned about any kind of discomfort. Mine passed with no problems about 3 days post.

Did you have an upper endoscopy as well. They might have done that during the procedure and that might have irritated things. That would have been just part of the placement and looking to make sure that area was not of any concern. Just a thought.

Yup, they did an upper endoscopy and there was "redness" but they didn't seem to imply that it was a big deal. I told my doctor about the pain right away and she said that people usually feel it in the center of the chest, but that for me, it is likely referred to that mid-right back area. My doctor didn't seem surprised that I was in pain. She also mentioned that they had to sedate me more than usual to get me to stop coughing. So, part of the pain could be a pulled muscle from coughing in a weird position...and then the spastic wave of pain when the food passes the device is just that. I am glad to hear that yours passed quickly. I hope it does for me too. This food diary is a bit funny too, it is making me aware that I eat and drink all day long.
