Enterobacter Cloacae

Could just be something she picked up -- from anywhere. My son is a little older and STILL drives me nuts 'cuz he'll put his face or mouth on something he shouldn't -- store counters, shopping cart handles. Still is big into nosepicking stage. Bleah.

I do recall the cough was horrible though. Didn't seem to affect his sleep, but eating -- he'd cough and gag so much I wondered how he even managed to get any nutrition since he was throwing up from it. Once he got meds though, it cleared up fairly quickly.

Liza your so funny with the nose picking remark. I had to laugh cause my 12 year old is still in that stage. lol...In fact I think all my boys live with their finger in their nose. it is a constant, "get that thing out of your nose....!" uugghhh... must be a boy thing.

Liza your so funny with the nose picking remark. I had to laugh cause my 12 year old is still in that stage. lol...In fact I think all my boys live with their finger in their nose. it is a constant, "get that thing out of your nose....!" uugghhh... must be a boy thing.

Enterobacter cloacae is carried in the large intestines of many people, particualrly children, where it lives without causing harm. It is very similar in many ways to E. coli.

I think the nose picking with dirty fingers theory is not far off the mark. Like many bacteria that happily live in one part of the body, they can cause disease if they get into a different part of the body.

Generally, E. cloacae is sensitive to many antibiotics, so should not be too difficult to get rid of.
