Hi all,

I have recently (over the last month) been having increased GI issues (gas, bloating, etc). I currently take Creon 20 - 7 w/meals, which is the max dose I can be on. So, my nutritionist is sending me samples of Zenpep to see if I notice a change. Has anyone made this switch? If so, was it helpful?

I've switched back and forth from Creon and Zenpep based on availability of the drug at my pharmacy. There was one time while I was in the hosp. that my CF doc thought I was taking Creon, ordered it, and then realized I was taking Zenpep. I just used the Creon that time until I got home. I never had bad GI issues while on the Creon (it seemed to work well for me since Ultrase is out of the picture), but I have to say I prefer the Zenpep. I do feel less bloated, though my bloating while on Creon was nothing major. I've been using the Zenpep now for about a year and I think it's great.

I hope it works for you!

I recently switched from Creon 24 to Zenpep 20. It started out pretty well...but now I am not so sure. I started having ALOT more GI issues (gas, bloating, etc). So many issues that I am having a colonoscopy done to see if there is something else going on. I honestly don't know if it was the switching of the enzymes or not...but all the problems came shortly after the switch. Could be coincidental...

Good Luck to you!

I went from Pancrecarb to Zenpep (since they stopped manufacturing it). I'm doing really well with the Zenpep. Also, for those of you on it, be sure to sign up for Zpoints if you have private insurance. It saved me $50 per month on my copay (went from $70 to $20).
