Esphogeal w/ Manometry

I have to have this for my pre-transplant evaluation. So apparently my gag reflex is super strong and they had trouble placing the probe and they ended up canceling that attempt. I wasn't sure if anyone else had this problem and what they were able to do to fix it. The doctor performing it kept telling me it was mind over matter, but when there's an object hitting the back of my throat, I tend to gag... kind of like blinking when there's something in your eye to me.

When I did it the second time they used one of their older types of tubing that was softer and I felt that made a big difference. Some of it is "mind over matter", if you can find a way to relax<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I know that is hard. I wish I could be there with you to talk you through it. The whole transplant eval. is a bit overwhelming and I think that doesn't help us relax any. This is a simple test though and what they are looking for is very important. If you don't understand why the test is being done, PM me and I will explain it in more detail.
