Ever wonder.....?

Ever wonder about symptoms you might have that can't be explained by CF? I wrote down as many symptoms as I could think, CF related or not. Its quite a list.

Fatigue, insomia, depression, mood swings, headaches, TMJ, IBS, chronic and sometimes severe back pain, muscle spasms, muscle aches, sensitivity to cold, sensitivity to loud noises, cough, dry eyes, joint pain and stiffness, stiffness after laying in one position for too long, periodic tingling and numbness of my hands and face, dizziness, can't wake up in the morning, frequent urination, feeling like I'm starving then not eating much, flu like symptoms.

I will add more if I think of anything, that's a lot! I am falling apart. What the hell will I be like in another 26 years!?

Well 26 more years puts you at my age, 51.

Sorry about all your aches & pains - feel better froggy! <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

Here is the thing, and I hate to sound like i'm beating a dead horse, and I know some people refuse to try things on their own, but I will mention it again and things that were up with me before that are now gone symptom wise:

The CF's entire body is assaulted with inflammation, not just the lungs. Due to our immune systems being in overdrive, I have found that our bodies kind of age almost similar to those progeria patients that hyper age. Where you shouldn't be expected to have say chronic joint pain until you are maybe in your 40's or 50's (or older), many of us get it in our 20's, and the severity can be as bad as for someone who is healthy and in their 70's. That aside, the human body is just a giant chemical compound. Everything you feel negatively, can almost always be traced back to a chemical out of whack for some reason within your body (like people who have a brain chemical imbalance and act very weird). I shared many symptoms that you listed, until I started to do research into different natural substances that were known to treat such problems and their underlying cause. After experimenting myself, and finding some of the core items that alleviated my symptoms the most, I am still primarily symptom free to this day. My joints feel amazing, where as before they used to creak and pop and be inflammed and i'd be miserable. I also had gout that would literally cripple me. Muscle pains, phantom muscle pains, dry eyes. You name it, I had most of your symptoms, which are very common in older CF's.

There are countless, relatively affordable natural substances out there that with a little mental elbow grease on your end (due to the internet you don't even have to leave your house), you can look into the root causes of certain symptoms, and see what is recommended to treat them. Not everything can be totally fixed with this routine, nor would they be overnight remedies if they worked, but I can tell you now as god is my witness, many if not all of the symptoms I had before are now gone after me trying some things after my own research, and sticking with the ones that seemed to work. A little bit of interest might turn out to be something very useful to you comfort wise.

some of those are cf related - frequent urination is s aymptom of cfrd, and fatigue, stiffness, muscle aches, etc can be connected to malnourishment.

i had read about menatl health issues being connected to poor nutrition, too. the literature wasn't cf oriented, but it talked extensively about how a lack of essential nutirients led to a wide array of mental health issues including depression and anxiety. one study showed that many of these "unexplained" issues cleared up with proper supplementation.

not to sound degrading, but i also think a few of the issues you mentioned are just symptoms of being. i've never been inclined to think that life was supposed to asymptomatic. sometimes stuff hurts. sometimes you feel tired. we live in an environment that is constantly changing, even if minutely. things we call symptoms are sometimes just the sensations of adaptation.

i, too, feel a lot of things you describe. i chalk most of it up to laziness, apathy, and a general sense of rebelliousness. then i get over it and get on with my day. or i don't and i mosey around and still get on with my day.
