Ever wonder.....?

Even if someone decides not to do the more hardcore supplement route (like I do), just a simple change in diet, a lean towards more "super foods", and exercise can work wonders. But then again if you are basically hobbled by some of these problems, you won't feel good enough to exercise/change your diet. My decisions I made were a life saver for me. I might have drank myself into an early grave due to depression because of my nagging symptoms, or maybe committied suicide. What I chose to do, basically saved my life, allowed me to work again, etc etc. I refused to believe there was nothing out there for me besides a never ending laundry list of pharmaceuticals. I guess i'm doing something right, I chased down a 23 year old kid last night in a cross country marathon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Look into natural anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, and antimicrobials. I kind of got to jet out of the door, but look on the first or second page for my thread about supplement updates. Some very helpful information in that thread (including that guys site describing the different super foods, antioxidant qualities, where they target, etc).

Just keep in mind as a CF, those are the three main things you want to target. Anything that can protect/repair your cells, cancel inflammation, and help fight microbes = win for you.

Quick things to look into: DHA/fish oils (more DHA), quercetin, curcumin, Quality oil of oregano, plant based phenol supplements...theres a start.

Hmmmm, gosh that must be hell to live with!!! I must be one incredibly lucky lady as apart from a bit of fatigue here and there (quite possibly because i work full time in a stressful job and look after my own home and lifestyle block when i'm not working), i don't have any of these symptoms.

Just a thought here - for 37 years, apart from oral antibiotics a couple of times a year, two inhalers and enzymes, i have never treated my CF. No nebs, no IVs, no physio...nothing. Not a deliberate decision on my part, just 2 parts denial to 1 part luck.

Apart from being a skinny little thing and having a cough (usually not too bad), i am pretty much symptomless. I now do IV's when i have to and use Pulmozyme - but i'm wondering if i should stop!!

Do you think it is possible, that some/most of these symptoms are actually brought on or at least exacerbated by all the medications you guys are on?
It amazes me how many of you take steroids for instance - my doc would never allow me to take steroids unless i was on death's door - and even then she would try everything else first.

I sometimes wonder if you guys are just over-medicating and your bodies are suffering because of this.
