Exercising in Winter while Pregnant

there are some baby and me aerobic classes that use the baby as a weight etc etc so depending on how much you can lift you might google that for days you are stuck and home and jsut cant get out.

I cant agree with Lauren enough my doc specifically forbade me from more than walking and light water aerobics and I think it was a BIG mistake and although I loved my doc when I get pregnant again I will tell her of my plans (excercising, no prenatal screenings, and no OGTT) if she cant support me I'm going elsewhere which will mean to a regular OB since she is only peri around.

I also took DD swimming last week and we walked laps in the pool, you can do all sorts leg excercises while walking quickly in pool and it can be a good lower body workout though it doesnnt get my HR high enough for me to count it cardio. I hold her out in front of me and she is learning ot kick etc so it is good for her too.

I go to the gym and leave my daughter in the infant center. I tell you this becasue that is a huge step for me to leave her with someone who is not my family. When my son was little, I couldn't bring myself to go to the gym and leave him with strangers, so I didn't go at all. My health could have been much better if I had. Now, I have switched gyms and am more comfortable with the staff and they limit the infants to 5 at a time with 2-3 adults. (I have also watched them with my neice). So, while my son is in preschool three times a week, I go to the gym (which I started before I was pregnant and continued until 7 mos) and have been taking my baby since she was 3 mos old.

If you don't have access to daycare at your gym or YMCA, then try one of the "baby and me" classes that are sometimes offered. Whatever you do, please do try to stay active. It will help you throughout the pregnancy and into motherhood (again!)
