my daughter ashley is a double f508, which is supposed to be the worst, but she is 5 and has never been sick.
all kids are different. Take the meds, give lots of love
and remember that life is a gift. This child could be well, and outlive everyone else in your family. This disease does not define a person's life by any means.
Best of luck.
I found out before she was born too, in my 18th week of pregnancy.
lots of love
Leah

My daughter has a I and II and is doing awesome! Plus, with her class I we are hoping for PTC124 and for her class II that vertex drug. So, while we have the "bad classes" there really is a lot of hope these days!

Genes alone do not predict clinical outcome. Siblings, who have the same CF genes (because they're siblings), have dramatically different clinical outcomes.

CF health, or lackthereof, depends on proactive medical treatment, environment, modifier genes (other genes that modify the way that CF genes are expressed), exercise, and compliance with medical therapy.

Early diagnosis is great because you can begin proactive care immediately.
