Hey... just wondering. Just ordered a supply of straight Ultrase for Maggie, went to clinic yesterday and they changed her to a new enzyme. So now I have 10 bottles of 100 Ultrase each completely sealed in their orignial bottles... what can I do with these? Can I give them to someone? the hospital said they can't take them but they would....

A very good question, but I don't know a good answer. It is illegal to sell or give prescription meds to anyone who is not on the prescription bottle. It does make for a huge amount of wasted meds, ESPECIALLY with the enzymes that are delivered in 10 bottle shipments. We have a load of creon that will expire next month -- what a waste!!

Did you tell the doctor your situation? Most of the time if the prescription is working the doctor will allow me to finish what I'm taking and next refill get the new prescription.

I'd suggest asking the dr if you can use the current supply before switching, like was said before, the US gov. doesn't allow selling or giving perscription drugs away. It's annoying in situations like this but in the long run, it's probably a good thing. There are techniques for destroying them if you must, ask your pharmacist about it.
If the ultrase has been working, i'd definately look into going through the last bit of them
