Khristina. There are two phases to the ovarian cycle (there also the uterine cycle).
the first phase is the follicular phase - from the beginning of the cycle until ovulation, when the pituitary sends the message to the ovaries to develop follicles toward ovulation - each follicle holds an egg; follicles secrete estrogen.
the second phase is the luteal phase - from ovulation until the next period. In the luteal phase the egg has been released from the follicle which now secretes progesterone in addition to some estrogen.
great work with the charting - so fascinating to see how it all works.

Thanks to both of you for your support it means the world to me!
Today is the 5th day of my period and I am only spotting so I think at least that part is normal. I started to spot yesterday so at least its ending this part of my cycle. So it seems like I have a normal length period so I am excited about that. So we'll see what the rest of my cycle brings.
Gosh this is so exciting to me to learn all of this.
Thanks Laura for explaining that to me.
Keep the info coming when you can I need all I can get!!! LOL

Its always nice to put faces with names isn't it.
I would love to see your pic Laura.

I am still charting and am on my 9th day of my 2nd cycle. My temps are good and consistant so thats good. My period lasted 3 days (with two more days of spotting) which I think is pretty normal.

But whats not normal is that my cervix never went low and closed it has stayed in the mid range and open. Even right after my period. And my cervical fluid never went dry. It has stayed creamy.

So that has left me with more questions.
Is that still the left over affects of b/c or is that normal for some women? Anyone with any info would be apreciated. Thanks in advance.
