fast bowel movements

Does anyone have bowel movements that obviously contain food from the meal you had hours before?? My daughter had peas for dinner at 5:30 and then there they were at 10:00!! The day before everything in the poop department was normal. Her docs say she is OK for her weight and her enzyme amount (6 Creon5 and 28 pounds). Is it normal to just have a bad day??

I think its normal to have weird days and food that doesn't digest fully. If it gets to be more regular you could talk with the GI, but I'm guessing its no big deal. The skin on peas is pretty tough to digest...same with corn.

I was thinking the same thing, too. The extra fiber in peas/beans, etc. I can always tell when DS has corn at school and lately he's been on a sunflower nut kick and likes to NOT chew them and see what comes out. Not sure about peas 'cuz he's not a fan.

I am going to agree and say that it's a totally natural thing to have some not all the way digested food in stools. Even you and I probably do from time to time, not that we scrutanize our stools like we do our kids! I think that as long as it isn't a frequent thing, it's fine. I'm sure it's dependant on lots of factors, like what else she has had to eat with it, how long ago the enzymes were taken and the acid content in her tummy. I recently had Cammie put on Prevacid b/c the acid in her tummy was making it hard for the enzymes to work.
