Does anyone know when the FDA is meeting to discuss approval of AZLI? I read it was supposed to be this month. Did I miss it?

Hi Jeana,

It looks like it was approved today (well, ok, yesterday since it's after midnight).

Looks like the brand name of it will be Cayston. They're anticipating it being available by the end of next week.

Jeana,

Were you in the trial/expanded access? I'm guessing by your reaction that you had a positive experience with it? I missed the study, so I'm anxious to see how it will work for me. I don't tolerate Tobi very well so it will be nice to have another med to try! Yay.

It just seems like there is so much going on right now with trials. It's exciting. I'm trying to be guardedly optimistic. The stuff going on with the Vertex meds kind of reminds me of the feelings I had after the gene was discovered in 1989. I haven't had this much hope since then, when we all started hearing a cure was around the corner. I know the Vertex meds are by no means a cure, but it's as close I ever thought I'd live to see. I just hope they continue to kick butt in the next phases!
