Silly question - is she on enzymes yet? That is a big help. What helps me with Alysa is pediasure milkshake drinks. We give her about 2 or 3 a day and that helps top up her calorie count (not sure if your child is too young but worth asking about) then there is adding butter to stuff, extra cheese, olive oil as suggested.

I dont think you need to make special meals or anything just adding extras to her share should do the trick.

She hasn't started enzymes yet, she's still mostly pancreatic proficitent. I have been adding the heavy cream, butter, etc to her foods... it's more just a matter of her actually eating them. A lot of the things I can always count on her eating are healthy things with no fat or things with little nutritional value that are higt in fat like gold fish.
Thanks so much for all the responses... it's always helpful to know others are going through the smae things! ( :

I hear you... DS would much rather drink our skim milk, eat carrots, drink "ice cold" water than have whole milk, ice cream... Drives me nuts!

I went through the same thing. My son has been a picky eatter his whole life and still is! There is the pedisure or peptamin, carnation shakes, and scandishakes which we use and are awsome! I make popsicles out of them and just shakes. 600 cals a pop! My son also has a GJ feeding tube which you docs may consider at some point. Alot of parents are afraid of getting them but it is sooo nice not having to worry so much about trying to force food into a kid and its not like they are forever once they get older and pick up good habits about eatting they can be removed. You can also get some calorie booster powder from the same company that makes the scandishakes. Its tasteless and can be added to everything. I have a ton at home if you want to try a can, I can mail you out one just let me know. Kelly
