Wow this is intersting. My son is now on his 4th kind of enzyme bc we are having to many poopy diapers a day and they are always greasy and very loose. We've tried Creon, Pancrecarb, Zenpep, and now Ultrase. We take antiacid too. We've tired 2 kinds of antiacid. I dont see any change. We did however run out of formula for a day and a half and we gave him regular 2% milk instead, he actually pooped normal! It was formed and everything! (Sorry for being so gross LOL but were excited!) Hes almost 11 months old so we will be on regular milk in a month. I can't wait!

Scandishake makes one that is lactose-free in both choc or vanilla. You may be able to get that to mix with his soy milk. (I am not sure if that still contains casein or not though, which he would not be able to have if he's truly allergic to milk vs. being lactose-intolerant- but may be worth a try.) I'd also consider adding a multi-strain probiotic and see if that helps the poop situation.

I'm so glad you are seeing promising results with subbing out the milk with soy! It's such a relief to see positive changes when there's been a frustrating problem going on for so long!

We actually use coconut milk and rice milk in place of cow's milk. In reading a lot of information, soy is not the best for anyone to eat anymore, because it has been so...genetically modified. Rice dream has the same calories as milk, but not as much protein. Coconut milk has so many health benefits, is high in fat and calories and works great in nutritional drinks. When baking I use coconut milk in place of any milk and any water that a recipe call for. Such a great healthy way to boost the calories<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Awww- don't do that! :) You're a great mom- you figured it out. I went through a similar thing with Jake and it took 6 months to figure out- not until he had blood in his stool and then they did the tests. Once I removed milk from his diet (and mine as I was nursing), things got alot better.

I learned that docs can easily "blame" things on CF- and in their defense it's hard to know sometimes- but I learned to look outside of the CF box and contiue to advocate.

Great job Mom!!!
Hugs,
Lisa
