Feeling blue lately

Really enjoyed reading these posts, hope your lung function picks up soon stillfighting and that you feel more positive. I've always found yoga to be beneficial in lifting my mood. It has also helped with my breathing. I'm also really down at the moment after a cancer diagnosis, so I'm trying to be kind to myself and have treats to keep me going. Tomorrow I'm going to a spa to relax in steam rooms and saunas, this also helps with my lungs. I do AD whilst in there to clear them out a bit. I also find my dog is a huge source of comfort. I haven't seen her today as I'm in the hospital, and I've missed her so much. I don't have to explain my mood or talk about my cancer or cf, she just loves and accepts me. There is also the advantage of extra exercise as she needs walks, and if i'm feeling rubbish I still have to do it. This does usually help with my lungs and well being.

To everyone that has responded,

I am inspired to see that I am not different from others living with CF. Many of you experience the same emotions as I am currently experiencing. I always felt as an oddity since others could not relate to me. I guess that there is some truth that commonality actually brings comfort.

To lilaonholiday,

The diagnosis of cancer is a devastating experience and I am sorry to hear this. Is there anything that we can do to help. Do you wish to write about it!

Hi there! I find the biggest help is venting - fully expressing what you're feeling through written or oral words. Using a journal has personally saved my life and been there for me when I have felt utterly alone, because try as I might to communicate my feelings to others, I often feel they don't really get it. Plus I can be completely honest about how I feel without offending anyone Other than that... having a go at a punching bag for a while always helps me, too.
Hope you find something that works for you, and I hope you feel better soon
