I have been feeling jealous lately of Reeces friends at school. Reece missed 2 days last week, 1 day cuz I was sick & the other cuz he was sick. Today he came home early. He walked in all chatty, but now hes on the couch sleeping. If he wakes up still feeling yucky I will call the clinic. Anyways back to the topic, his school picks 1 child to bring snack in on each day, & that day is also show & tell & line leader. Well Reece has only had it maybe twice. ( the whole school year) Theres only 15 kids M & F & 30 kids only on Wed. I feel like he got jipped. I know he was out alot this year, but I still feel bad for him. He missed 2 feild trips too. I know I have this to look forward too the rest of his school years, but right now it bothers me. I dont know if Im being emotional or what. I DO know that Im sick of him getting sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know maybe I just needed to vent. Thanks!

I do the same thing sometimes.....feel jealous. It is usually when my son is sick or not having a good day. I think that it is normal to feel like this sometimes. I even find myself getting very irritated at parents who complain about simple things. I always get over it and when my son feels good these emotions are not near as bad. I bet if you asked any parent who has a child that is sick alot (no matter what the illness happens to be) they would say they have felt this way before as well. You are doing a good job and from what I've read in your blog you sound like a wonderful mom. Hopefully your little guy will be feeling good again soon!

I understand how you feel. Sometimes ya feel like you just need to catch a break and the regular virus/cold kid stuff hits our cf'ers differently. I hope Reece feels better soon. Sometimes my heart aches when friends of mine complain about their kids ear infections or runny noses or scraped knee. It is not fair, we worry about avoiding hospitalizations, big weight losses, and how our kids chest x-rays will look. Our children are a blessing, we just we they did't have to go through the crap they do, and as a mom we feel it too. So vent away, that's what we are here for! You are a great mom.

I'm sure you are not alone my Vivian always missing out on one thing or the other because of being sick. At her school they have prize drawing for perfect attendants every 9 weeks, Vivian has never been included in the drawing.

I do have to give her school koodles because this week and last they are taking their state assessment test and the school has provided the kids with mints durining the test and they made sure that Vivian had sugar free mints so she wouldn't miss out on this treat.

One thing you can as the teacher to try to give him little special jobs in class when he is there.

For me it was shortly after DS was born and recovering in the NICU for 4 weeks from surgery due to mecoium illeus -- I'd feel pure rage at pregnant women. I can remember going to the cafeteria and seeing couples gathering for childbirth classes -- I just wanted to shove them. That and sarah jessica parker, who gave birth around the same time I did and every entertainment/women's magazine had articles about her perfect life and her perfect babies... Bleah!

I was feeling a little down this weekend 'cuz so many times DS is enjoying playing outdoors and I have to call him in to do his vest & nebs. It's especially difficult right now 'cuz he's got Tobi, so it takes a bit longer.

VENT AWAY Leah! That's what we're here for.

I'm sure all of us parents feel that envy from time to time. I know I do.

I would think it wouldnt be normal if we didnt have those moments. Especially when we see some of these people take it all for granted.
