Happy B-day Khristina. I can somewhat sympathize with your sadness, as I have it engraved in my psyche that each birthday is one day closer to death. I never celebrate any of my birthdays, and due to my introvert disposition and nagging health problems, my social life practically begins and ends at my day of work. I can't say I love my life, as things can definitely be better, but I do love myself. Call me self-centered if you want, but because of the love I have for myself, I have put in the time and effort needed to be healthy with CF. People might say I have a mild case of CF, but I dare them to walk a day in my shoes. I guarantee they won't be saying that anymore. And some might say it's a pain being around me, but actually try BEING me.
Yes time has certainly flown by, but I believe that we are just travelers in time. Time is constant-it will still be when we pass. The only thing I can say is rejoice in your health and take 1 day at a time. Life's not a light switch or a marathon, it's a journey.
