Feet problems

Hello, I am pre diabetic and I was wondering if anyone else has feet problems. I have what looks like athletes foot and I have tried everything to make it go away. Some times it goes away for 3 days and then comes right back. It is itchy and horribly annoying. Ive tried every natural and over the counter medicine. This just started Sept of 2012 and will not go away. Im starting to think maybe it has something to do with being pre diabetic. Any suggestions will help. I cant go see a doctor unless I go to the ER because of my type of medical insurance.

I have a lot of problems with fungus on my feet. I use prescription Lamisil, which seems to provide temporary relief. I think taking so many antibiotics makes me prone to fungus. I'm not pre-diabetic or diabetic, so I don't know if that could be causing your problem.

I have had trouble with my feet since I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. They tried to tell me it was a fungal infection. Bought fungal cream and it only took care of it temporarily. I have tried neosporin and all sorts of foot creams. My feet don't itch but they are flakey and look like a snake's skin. They have gotten worse with all the antibiotics I have been on lately.

Just watch your feet for sore and numbness. If you get sores that are stubborn to heal see a doc immediately.

My problem also looks like snake skin. I am not on any antibiotics and try to avoid them as much as possible. The last time I was on any antibiotics, they were iv, and that was February 2012. I did an Epsom salt and tea tree oil foot soak yesterday and it did provide a lot of relief. I am going to keep doing that and see if it completely goes away.

Doesn't really sound like a diabetic thing. That is usually manifested by pain, tingling, or no feeling. Itching soulds like weather changes (new skin coming in) or a fungus (athlete's foot). The cream for athlete's foot (Lamisil or whatever you find that is OTC) takes forever to fully work. Like...months. Wear only cotton socks, make sure your feet are super dry at all times, especially between your toes, and wear good fitting well-ventilated shoes. If you want, try an OTC cream for athlete's foot twice a day. Your soak sounds helpful, too. I hope you find relief! Foot itch is a pain!

One thing for excessive dry skin for anyone but especially with CF, add a little bit of flax seed oil to your diet daily. It can loosen things up a bit BM wise so pay attention to that, but adding this in has made a HUGE difference in my son's feet, hands, elbows etc from his dry skin. Also emu oil helps with pain as well as is a monster moisturizer/softener. I have used baby oil, coconut oil and all kinds of creams and after putting emu oil on my kiddo both his feet and my hands were amazingly softer within a few days.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think you are right that it isn't a pre diabetic thing, but Im sure it has something to do with CF. Everything is always some how related to CF lol. I am going to try the flax seed oil, that sounds like a good idea. The soak has really been helping. Been doing it for around 3 days now, I am feeling a major difference.
