You are thinking this way for a very good reason. We usually know when things are not working (better than anyone) trust your instincts.. Where do you live ? maybe you can find another clinic in your area ? If you dont like the way things are going, take the bull by the horns (so to speak) and do something... its your health and your life.... Keep us posted... God Bless Joni 55 y/o f w c/f

Well said Amy, you hold the doc down and i'll bash her with a baseball bat!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Seriously this is a disgrace, 30% in such a short time is huge, i wouldn't even give this doctor another chance, find a new one, clearly this one has no clue.
Find a new doctor and demand IV's now!! In future ask for a copy of all of your test results including sputum cultures and antibiotic sensitivities and only accept oral AB's if a) you can see that your bug(s) are indeed sensitive to the oral AB's you have been prescribed and b) they make a significant difference after one week and after two weeks you stay better and don't start to slide again. If you start to slide again, demand IV's. Sometimes even though officially the oral AB's should work, they don't do as good a job as they should. This is your life, try not to be frightened or intimidated by the doctors taking care of you, YOU have more reason to be diligent with your health than any doctor does and you therefore have every right to be pushy and demanding. So they may think youre a cow, so what? At least your a LIVE cow.......better than a dead sweetheart who never said boo!
