Hey Adrienne

ROCK ON!!!
That is great news, I am 50 with CF and my FEV's are around 39-40 and I "keep on trucking"

REMEMBER... even if your FEV's do not increase it is good that they are stable - you need to preserve your lungs as long as possible. Exercise will help keep you lungs "clear and strong"

Exercise is great! I'm glad you jumped on the bandwagon. I find classes great...it's motivating for me to be around positive, can-do people having fun. Also loud music is good for me. Something about hearing my breath or worse wheezing really sucks the wind out of my sails. Also with loud music I can cough my head off and most don't know I'm even doing it. Of course then there's spitting out the mucus. I won't get into that but lets just say I don't swallow. What's cool is the motivation goes both ways. I have people coming up to me after every aerobics class now and say pretty much the same thing, "I realized if you can do it, I have no excuse. Thanks for the motivation!" Realize that these people are not commenting on my cf, they are commenting on me being pregnant and managing to keep up pretty damn well. One time I said something to the effect of yeah and it's a miracle I'm pregnant let alone exercising at age 28. I have cystic fibrosis and am functioning with only 60% lung function. Making mention of all this was a bit over the top for the girl, a little too in your face-ish, I have since changed my response to a simple "thank you, I hope you come back because you motivate me a whole lot too."
