Maggie has been off her anti for 9 days and now I think she picked up something else. Arg. last night she was coughing a bit during treatments, even since she finished her Zyvox she's had a little throat clearing thing when doing treatments or singing. But she woke with a fever 101 or more with a headache and she has that slight dry cough....My guess is another virus? So much stuff is going around....Wondering if I should call again her CF doc or wait through the weekend..She always gets sick on Friday! Hubby is going away on Sunday of course for the week..SO I'm flying solo

My kids (and me!) all had a virus a few weeks ago that sounds similar. It effected us all a little differently, such as I didn't have a fever but a horrible headache and slight drainage/congestion that lasted for 6 days. It felt like I had an elephant on my head. My son (2.5 nocf) had a low fever (never over 101) for 8 days (freaked me out!) and more drainage than the rest of us, enough to give him a very sore throat and his neck was really achey. My daughter (5.5 wcf) had a fever of 101 for less than 24 hours, but had headaches and congestion for about a week along with her throat hurting off and on. Maybe some of this sounds similar? We live in NE Indiana and it was really going around at the time, I had more than a few friends who had it in their households.

I hope Maggie is feeling better soon!

Sorry to hear that Maggie is sick. If its a virus, the CF center will want to wait a few days to see if it causes a bump in her cough. You might be okay to wait it out through the weekend and if she's still coughing on monday to call them.

I hope its just a normal kid virus and it passes quickly.

I hate that feeling of should I call, shouldn't I call and it (fever/cough) always seems to happen right before the weekend for us, too.

I guess if she's continuing to cough, I'd at least call the clinic to see what they suggest. DH had similar symptoms (scratchy throat, cough, congestion) a few weeks ago, while DS just seemed to have more head cold symptoms. Seems like it took forever for both of them to clear out the snot even thought they both felt better. Part of the issue with DS, too is prior to the head cold he got a fever for a day or so -- no other symptoms. The following week a stomach bug... Just seemed like one thing after another. Imagine being sick, just made him more suspectible to the other viruses going around.

Could be the cough is just getting out all the residual crud from before. Hope she's feeling better soon.
