fevers

I know that there was a thread before regarding fevers. Kayla was getting them often, and they lasted up until she was on IVs for about three days. We went for almost three weeks, and now she is getting them again. Last night they were were around 99-100. This morning the same. Now she is at 101.7.

She has no other symptoms. Not really even much of a cough since the hospitalization a few weeks ago.

Do those of you with Cepacia frequently get fevers? I realize it can just be that she is fighting off a virus or something...but I was just curious as to if there was a connection.

I get fevers when I get exhausted. I have cepacia but I don't know if its related as I also got fevers when I was little when I got exhausted, the cepacia may just heighten it. before I need IVs I get them more frequently, and I also get them from the IV medication itself. its probably just the body trying to fight the infection. or it could also be a sign that she needs some rest. For me it helps if I drink a lot of water, (As I'm usually dehyrated when it happens), take a nap, and take a tylonal.

Daily low grade fevers was my first symptom of cepacia. I never really ran fevers before i had cepacia unless i was really very sick and even then it was rare. When they started coming every day, same time of day, i knew something was up. My cf nurse told me that low grade fevers with cepacia is very common. Dehydration like Lauren mentioned can also add to the mix of unexplained fevers.

Cory would get out of the blue fevers over the last several years. Sometimes once a week and sometimes everyday. Often even Cory didn't realize he had a fever, just started to feel chilled
