I wish I could come, Julie, I need to talk to you and set up a time we can talk, I will pay you for services, I am already approved for disability etc, but my lawyer told me I can work and make under a thousand dollars without being penalized, yes it will count toward my trial work and when I go over the alloted time they will look, but then they will see that I am not making good money and continue benefits.

I also need help getting my student loan discharged.

Can you give me a brief synopsis of what you speak about? Especially student loan discharge? I'm not sure what that is. You can PM me if you like. Thanks so much!

Sure Kristen,

I'm going to be going over the differences between SSI and SSDI, both in how you qualify for them as well as how the payments and criteria of household income differet.

How much you can earn from WORKING and still collect SSDI benefits.

Medicaid/medicare benefits for SSI/SSDI recipients

Returning to work, using your 9 trial months, still qualifying for medicare AFTER you've used up your 9 trial months but still have a "disabling" condition...

As far as the student loan discharge info goes, for any loan that is FEDERALLY funded, they have a disability discharge application. The basics of it is that if YOU (the "disabled", not the entire household!) is earning less than the FPL for a family of 2 (regardless of your actual family size), and you have a documented disability and your dr is willing to fill out their forms. If it is approved, they will place your student loans in a "conditional discharge" status for 3 years. During that time they will NOT accrue interest and you will NOT be required to pay on them. If, at some point during the conditional discharge your health improves and you earn over the FPL for 2 person household, your loans will come due again but you will NOT be penalized for interest or the period that you didn't pay.

If, after the 3 years of conditional discharge you are under the FPL for household of 2, your loans will be PERMANENTLY DISCHARGED and you will no longer be responsible for them.

However, it is important to remember that this applies ONLY to the FEDERALLY FUNDED/BACKED student loans.
