Todays our son starts his "warm up" for September. Two Days a week for only 2 hours. I'm such a wimp. I was up until 3:00 am thinking this over and over again. This a good thing! It's only TWO hours! Ahhh tell me AGAIN I'm not alone. I feel like no one else understands my fears. It has nothing to do with letting him go. It's more my fears of the icky stuff out there....LOL...The WATER TABLE...LOL... (DEEP BREATH) This is a good thing!

Finishing Vest and we are out of here!

Thanks, Thanks...Thanks

Sarah

You're not alone. With each milestone it gets a little easier, you gain a bit more confidence and figure out what works and what doesn't. I'm am such a worrier. This past weekend I've been worrying about swimming lessons, which he starts (again) later this afternoon.

Last year DS started kindergarten, which is all day in our area, so I worried about that. During the summer he attended a 2 1/2 hour "safety town" program.

Just think how excited he's going to me and how much he's going to share with you about meeting new friends, crafts...

It will be ok!! I remember how much I worried when Emily started preK. It was the summer program for her, too, right after she turned 3... we didn't know about her CF yet, but she was having lots of issues with her other health condition so it felt like I had a worry list as long as my arm and it was my first lesson in many of 'letting go.' The program was definitely for the best- she thrived there. That first day, though, it was so hard to drive out of that parking lot.

Looking forward to hearing how it went!

OK, I was NOT going to tell you this in my first post, but well- it was hard for me to drive outta that parking lot because I could hear Emily wailing all the way outside through the open windows.

By day three, though, she was shoving me out the door.

eta: LOVE the new pic! He's so cute with his backpack!

I know its hard. With CF there is just som mmuch more to think about -- but you are doing the best thing you can for him. Our job is to teach them to be independent, and its starts with the little steps like going off to preschool. He won't just learn at 18 how to do his treatments, wash his hands, take his enzymes, etc. He has to learn a little at a time and being away from you for a few hours a day is going to matter!!!! Hang in there, it will get easier on you both.
