Hi everyone,
I had my first OB appointment today. Things went really good. I was there 2 1/2 hours though for my consultation...and they wanted me there longer! I met with the chief physician of the high-risk department. He was really great. He told me that he's had lots of CF patients come through there with their pregnancies and that there's currently another woman with CF that's pregnant. So that was neat to know. I had no idea so many CF women were getting pregnant nowadays! It's awesome!
Anyhow, I had my first exam and everything looked great. He said I'm at risk for premature labor (as is anyone with a chronic condition I guess) because of the stress on the body and/or getting sick during pregnancy. Did everone else hear that they're at risk for premature delivery because of CF?
So then I had my ultrasound to check for Down Syndrome. Not sure why they check it at 10-12 weeks, because I thought they did that at the 18-20 week ultrasound. I had my finger pricked too for the rest of the DS test. The neck thickness looked fine though. HR was 167.
