My daughter has sinus surgery at the end of Feb. She was 4.5 at the time. Her sinuses turned out to be horribly the infected and she had a polyp that almost filled one cavity so her surgery took 2 hours rather than the expected 1.5 and her recovery took longer than expected too (I am wondering if it was bc her sinuses were so bad). She was outpatient bc her ENT didn't want to risk a secondary infection from the hospital (which I was so thankful for). She needed round the clock tylenol/motrin for 5 days bc she had what is called "refferred pain" in her neck. She also had a fever the entire 5 days which is considered normal. She didn't have packing so we were diligant about nasal rinses with the Neilmed Sinus rinse (twice a day) and saline sprays (1-2 times per day). She was seen 10 days post-op then again 5 weeks post-op. She never needed to have scabs scraped and we still do the Neilmed Sinus rinse at least once a day because it is GREAT at cleaning out the sinuses.
I will be honest, it was not fun for any of us BUT my daughter feels so much better now that it was totally worth it.
Here is a link on CF Sinuses that I found interesting:

I hope her surgery goes really well and that she has a quick recovery!
