First Ultrasound

Congrats on seeing your little one for the first time!!! Thats something that you will always remember

I was told I might have a shortening cervix as well - I am 17 weeks pregnant on Sunday... and it all started a couple of weeks ago when I was having severe cramping and just felt a ton of pressure down there - almost like everything was going to fall out of my vagina if I were to walk around. So, I was told to go have a vaginal ultrasound done at the hospital and have measurments taken.... if it was short, my doctor wanted me to have a cervical cerclage performed (they put a stitch in your cervix to prevent it from shortening anymore, hoping to prevent preterm labor).... but luckily mine measured perfectly (at that moment anyways)... she said that if women don't get the cerclage, they can be put on bedrest for a shortened cervix. Doing this keeps the weight off of the cervix, and gravity is in your favor now - which will hopefully keep you from going into preterm labor or miscarrying.

Your cervix does change though when you get pregnant, so hopefully its just the way your body is adapting to change!! But, since you are bleeding already, I would just take it easy. You are still so early in your pregnancy so there isn't much baby weight being put on your cervix... but the weight from your uterus and other changes happening can be effecting things. Just take it easy and RELAX

I am sure things will be okay... keep us posted on whats going on! And congratulations again~!

Thanks everyone. I'll be heading to my fertility doctor on Friday so I'm going to ask him what he thinks of the short cervix. I'm not going to worry about it at the moment. You know, I used to never worry about anything, and then once you have kids everything changes! You worry for every little thing! LOL. I tried the sea bands last night on my wrists, but I think I'm allergic to the pressure dots because I broke out in a red rash. I'll have to look for the pregger drops or something else. The pharmacist says Bonine can be used. I'll ask the doctor about that one too.

Leah, paint the dots with clear nail polish (this was my trick in hight school when things like my 'good' jewelry made me break out LOL) and try it again.

I tried preggo drops and they didnt work any better than a jolly rancher or any other sour candy for me.

Pretzels with extra salt, really thin, called salt stix and sold in abox were my friend!

congratulations!

When is the sons bday?
