Do you get the flu shot? If yes have you ever gotten sick from it? I haven't for the past 3 years, 1 of the 3 years i got the flu and broke it in about 4 days. I'm starting to think I'm better off not getting it. I have never gotten sick from the flu shot though.

I used to get the Flu shot. I got the shot five years in a row and the next day so sick that I couldnt stand and then addmitted to the hospital for a week. I know for me if I get a flu shot I need to go to the hospital so i take my chances so far the last two years no flu and no shot . I am not sugesstion any one else do what I do but now I am wondering has this happened to any one else I am not allergec to eggs so they do say that could be why I cant tolerate the shot.

I get it every year as well! never go sick from it! I think it helps me. I rarely get down with a flu. Sometimes i get extra cough or a sorethroat but never too sick!

Yes I do. Years ago before we even knew anything about CF, a coworker got the flu and ended up with a horrible secondary infection. So we started getting flu shots offered at work. I noticed that I no longer got that pesky fall and spring head cold that I usually had gotten in the past.

Two years ago the H1N1 hit our area hard and vaccine wasn't available. My husband caught it on a business trip and it scared the HECK out of him. He said it was the worst he'd ever felt, his lungs burned and he was terrified that if DS got it, it would be very, very bad.

So we always get the flu shot. Have always gotten -- me for the past 15 years or so and none of us have ever had a reaction from it.

My doctor considers me in a high risk category; so she always encourages me to get a flu shot. I've never had a problem after other than maybe a sore arm.
