Just wondering...my next clinic appt isnt until November 1 and my doctor suggests I get the shot before that. Do you (CFers) go to your PCP or would you go to a pharmacy like rite aid? I don't know how it works with the pharmacies as far as sterilized atmosphere/payments...

Let me know! Thanks!

Some indicate they'll except medicare or insurance cards. I've gotten mine at the County Health Department before and then submitted a receipt to my insurance, though I haven't done that recently.

Does your main clinic have flu shot blitzes? Ours usually do and we just register at the main desk and then get a shot in the lobby. This year I just called the clinic and they have a nurse who gives shots at certain times during the day.

I know last year with the shortage, quite a few of my friends got theirs done at the drugstore and didn't have any issues.

I've gotten my flu shots everywhere, lol. I've gotten them at Walgreens before, no big deal. They're just as sterile as the dr office. I just paid the $20 for it and went on with my day. Insurance might have covered it, but I didn't want to deal with it. The last 2 years I've gotten my flu shots from my college campus. Same thing, just as sterile and it was only around $20. If you can't make it to the dr, a local pharmacy should be just fine.

I usually just get mine at Walgreens...no appt required, just walk in and they do it...easy/convenient to do on my lunch break, which works for me <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I got mine at CVS Minute Clinic this year.
They filed my Medicare. I was in and out in less
than 10 mins.

I normally have my tx clinic in October so that's where I normally get mine. I got my flu shot and pneumonia shot at my transplant clinic last week.

If I don't get it there, I get it at my Primary doc's office. They're good about getting me in there for that stuff. My son normally gets his at his pediatrician's office but this year, he was in the hospital overnight for a sinus infection that caused cellulitis on the right side of this face so they gave him the flu shot in the hospital before he was discharged.
